The Area
Benllech is a delightful seaside village with a sandy beach just a 10 minute walk from the bungalow.
Other local amenities between 5 and 15 minute walk of the bungalow include:
- Grocery shops (Co-operative food, Spar, & Tesco Express)
- Bars, Restaurants and Cafes
- Award winning fish and chip restaurants
- Post Office (inside Tesco Express)
- Cash machines
- Specialist Ice cream shops (Harela's and Red Boat)
For a bigger grocery shop, Llangefni has an Aldi, Asda and Lidl and Bangor has a large Tesco.
For a change of scene beach-wise, Traeth Coch (Red Wharf Bay), Traeth Lligwy and Traeth Llanddona, are all within 5-10 minute drive. Nowhere is terribly far away on the island though and the beaches at Rhosneigr (Traeth Llydan and Traeth Crigyll), Porth Trecastell (Cable Bay), and Bae Trearddur (Trearddur Bay) are well worth a visit.
Should you fancy something a little different than beaches then Pentreath Forest near Traeth Coch (Red Wharf Bay) is beautiful and Penrhos Coastal Park is a lovely park to the north of the island, the South Stack lighthouse is a popular attraction, as is Beaumaris with it's beautiful castle and little shops.
For the walkers Benllech is nicely situated for the Anglesey Coastal Path. The Eryri National Park (Snowdonia) is a 30 minute drive away, and Llanberis (one of the routes up Snowdon) is 35 minutes away in a car.
